Probably the best book today on the identification of British and Irish lichens. As a complete beginner this book took a while to get used to but it is well worth the effort.

It contains a good glossary of terms and diagrams showing what to look for. It aims to be useful to lichenologists /5(8). It is a cross-genre kind of book, rich in scientific detail as well as filled with story telling and spiritual meaning.
